JemgumH2 – Key position for hydrogen storage and core network

Salt structures

Germany offers ideal, geological conditions for the storage of natural gas and hydrogen. Stable salt formations ensure safe, underground storage.

Germany thus plays a central role in the security and decarbonization of the European energy system and customers can be supplied with low-carbon hydrogen through the expansion of hydrogen storage capacities.

Hydrogen core network

The national hydrogen core network will connect the main production and demand regions by 2032.

The future pipeline network in Germany will cover around 9,000 kilometres.

The Jemgum site is strategically located near the planned core network.

JemgumH₂ should play a key role within the future hydrogen infrastructure and contribute to security of supply.

Further information on the core network can be found on the FNB-Gas e.V. website.
