UGS Haidach – Marketing of capacities for storage year 2024/2025

[Kassel, 21 September 2023] For the coming storage year, it is guaranteed that the Haidach storage facility can make a further significant contribution to Europe's security of supply: SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH has ceded its’ capacity share to astora in order to make it available to the market.

On 5th October 2023, astora will offer storage capacities for the storage year 2024/2025 on the capacity platform PRISMA.
The offered working gas volume of approx. 2.4 TWh will be marketed with the following specifics:
„Haidach SY24/25 – 2.4 TWh“: -> 75 bundles, in addition to this firm working gas volume of 32,797,619 kWh, each bundle includes a firm injection capacity of 11,874 kWh/h and a firm withdrawal capacity of 13,119 kWh/h.

No variable fee will be charged for the storage product. The respective current filling level requirements in Austria of 10% on the 1st of July apply. Specific storage curves shall be considered.

Bids can be submitted on 5th October 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (CET). Companies that are not yet registered but do have interest in participating are requested to submit a request via the PRISMA platform, considering the registration deadline.

The Haidach storage facility is currently connected to the Trading Hub Europe (THE) market area via the network operators bayernets GmbH (USP Haidach) and Open Grid Europe GmbH (Haiming 3-Haidach storage facility). Furthermore, via the booking of the short-distance transport at bayernets between the USP Haidach and Überackern 2, there is an additional connection of the storage facility Haidach to the control area East in Austria, whereby the corresponding regulations under REGENT have to be considered. During the storage year 2023/24, it is expected that there will also be a direct entry/exit possibility into the Penta West by means of the newly created grid connection point "Speicher Penta West".
